Accessible by I-75, I-71 and I-675 - Springboro is located at the center of the Cincinnati-Dayton Metroplex - making it a true confluence of southwestern Ohio culture. The City
The area around Springboro was settled in 1796 but didn't see its formal founding as "Springborough" until 1815 by the surveyor who plotted both Columbus and Dayton - Jonathan Wright. The city gets its iconic name for the abundant springs that populate its greater area. Springboro was a major stop on the Underground railroad as well, with it being the first city to place an Ohio Underground Railroad Historic Marker to commemorate its mark on our shared history. Through the 1970's to present day Springboro has expaned quickly and required a new highway exit from I-75 and represents an important suburb between the two major cities of Dayton and Cincinnati.
